Lyn Jenkins is the creative force behind the "Izzy and Zoey Adventures" children's book, storybook series. Her journey as an author began in 2019, when a devastating hurricane led her to rebuild her life and find inspiration in the stories she had always wanted to tell. This life-changing event sparked a new beginning, and Lyn's passion for storytelling was ignited.
The series follows the adventures of two lively West Highland Terrier puppies, Izzy and Zoey, as they explore the world with a love for life and a penchant for big adventures. As the series progresses, the puppies grow and learn, exploring the seasons in "Izzy & Zoey Talk About the Colorful Seasons," discovering everyday superheroes in "Izzy & Zoey's Great Pond Adventure," and learning valuable lessons about friendship and self-expression. A reading of "Izzy & Zoey's Adventures is featured on YouTube and all the books are illustrated by Terry Whistler.
Over the years, Lyn has expanded the series to include a range of titles, from "Izzy & Zoey's Friend at the Fence," which highlights the importance of good neighbors, to "Izzy & Zoey's Adventurous Fun with Adjectives," which teaches children to express their feelings and emotions. In 2022, Lyn added a water safety book, "Izzy & Zoey's Adventures with Summer Pool-Time Fun," and completed the first chapter book, "Izzy & Zoey's Mystery Adventures of Merry Christmas at The City of Good Tides," which conveys the heartwarming love shared between humans and animals. Her hope is that readers will enjoy the children's books as much as she enjoys creating them. www.lynjenkins.com. Lyn is the executive producer of the Voyage Media podcast "Cypress Creek" based on her book "Hurricane Harvey: Overcoming the Chaos." This expansion in her writing career involves a dark-comedy with 8 episodes on the antics of Joan and Katie as they navigate the aftermath of putting their life back together after a destructive rain event. The series is produced by Nat Mundel, Robert Mitas, Dan Benamor and Laura Somers. It is written and directed by Laura Somers and edited. The sound design, and mix is by Joel Lipman. Original music by Derlis Gonzalez. Starring Carolina Bonettie as Katie and Annie Abrams as Joan. Also starring Rachel Pate as Betty, Roshelle Simpson as Nancy, Veronica Dang as Darla, David Pinion as Mark, and Havish Ravipati as Gajodhar.
